MEET OUR PARTNERS

Alvin Ailey believed that “dance is for everybody.” He dedicated his company to serve not only as performers, but as teachers and role models to tens of thousands of children each year. Since its founding in 1958, the Ailey organization has honored this commitment to bring dance into the classrooms, communities, and lives of people throughout the world.

Ailey Arts In Education & Community Programs (AIE) represents a vital continuation of Alvin Ailey’s original vision. Since 1992, AIE has annually given over 100,000 young people from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to explore their creative potential while also imparting life skills such as teamwork and self-discipline.

The mission of AIE is to cultivate and energize youth and adults to take, make, and see dance. Through our school and community outreach programs, we inspire our audiences to explore their own creativity and experience the joy of dance.

Arts Ed Newark partners call for equity in high-quality arts education for all youth in Newark

Butterfly Dreamz, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps girls develop into women who achieve their dreams and fill the roles of leadership in this nation and world.

We aim to close the opportunity gap that exists for young women by providing girls with mentorship and quality career and leadership development programming. Through our books, programs, and scholarships, we give girls an opportunity to earn income, produce creative work, and build a supportive network that helps them thrive in school and at home. Butterfly Dreamz inspires girls to live boldly, dream big, and fly high.

Direct Embed offers a durable, scratch and graffiti resistant powder
coating process that embeds high-resolution images and graphics
under a tough layer of polyurethane coating. The Direct Embed finish
was formulated to withstand high traffic areas and setting in both
interior and exterior conditions and is easy to maintain.
With our knowledge of printing, colors, finishing and fabrication, we
are amply suited to help you achieve all your project goals.
With our unique process we can fabricate and finish complex shapes,
dimensional forms, flat panels and perforated materials. With a
multitude of materials and dimensions to choose from and the ability to

DREAMPLAY MEDIA is an award-winning creative and original media company.

DREAMPLAY TV is a locally-inspired, cinematic storytelling network, featuring original series, micro-docs, films, and more. Proud to launch in Newark, NJ.

The mission of GlassRoots is to ignite and build the creative and economic vitality of greater Newark, with a focus on under-served youth and young adults, through the transformative power of the glass art experience.

Since its founding in 2001, GlassRoots has engaged tens of thousands Greater Newark-area youth with its services, including its core Youth Entrepreneurship programs, student field trips and “art-for-art’s sake” classes for the public.

We harness the fire and danger of glassmaking to engage area youth. Our students develop patience, teamwork, creative problem-solving, plus the discipline and resilience they need to safely work with 2200 degree fire and molten glass. They gain hands-on experience in chemistry, physics, and math. They become young entrepreneurs as they develop and market their products.

They join a vibrant community in which all learn from each other. Our young artists grow stronger each time they forge glass, and experience the power of their own creativity.

At NJPAC, you’ll experience the joy of jazz, dance, acting, musical theater, film and hip hop taught by inspiring artists in a warm, supportive environment. Join us!

In addition to its lauded artistic programming, the NJSO presents a suite of nationally recognized education and community engagement (ECE) programs that promote meaningful, lifelong engagement with live music, annually serving as many as 60,000 New Jerseyans in nearly 21 counties.
Core program offerings include Concerts for Young People, the NJSO Youth Orchestras, Preschool Program and the touring chamber music program, NJSO Community Partners. Through its diverse array of programs, the NJSO expands access to quality music instruction as well as provides vital arts learning experiences that reinforce social and emotional learning outcomes, foster confidence and bring joy.

The Newark School of the Arts (NSA) changes the lives of youth through access to quality education in the performing and visual arts. We accomplish this by providing excellence in sequential education and training, offering an emerging state of the art learning environment, accepting students of all ages and abilities, and partnering with other successful arts educators while maintaining affordability and accessibility. NSA is a family and community-oriented school that has served over 50,000 individuals since its inception and provides education for up to 750 students each week.

For almost a century, Newark Symphony Hall has been an arts and culture staple in New Jersey. Thanks to our invaluable education programs and outreach, we’ve become a place where the community can gather and seek inspiration. As we approach our 100th anniversary in 2025, we are as committed as ever to providing an artistically rich experience for performing arts lovers of all ages.

MISSION: The Newark Trust (The Trust) is an independent non-profit dedicated to coordinating and focusing ideas, people, and resources on the efficient and effective delivery of a quality public education to all children in Newark; and to creating broad and shared accountability for student success across multiple stakeholders.

VISION: The Trust envisions a public education infrastructure that leverages the wide array of opportunities available to the young people of Newark, effectively creating positive conditions for learning that help young people meet rigorous academic outcomes, develop strong socio-emotional skills, and have access to high-quality post-secondary options.

Partnership for Children of Essex (PCE) is a private non-profit care management organization (CMO) dedicated to assisting youth with complex needs that include: emotional/behavioral, intellectual/developmental and substance use. PCE is a part of New Jersey's Children's System of Care. PCE utilizes a Wraparound model of care while working in partnership with youth and families to design and implement a plan of care that is specific to the youth's individual strengths and needs. PCE is committed to keeping youth safe in their home, school, and community.

The Institute for Ethical Leadership is dedicated to the study of leadership ethics and to programs for students and practitioners that aim to cultivate the knowledge and imagination to exercise ethical and effective leadership.

STEAM Urban provides personal development workshops and resources to underserved communities in urban neighborhoods by exploring education and therapy through the arts and sciences.

Save The Music Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps kids, schools, and communities realize their full potential through the power of making music. Founded in 1997, Save The Music partners with school districts and raises funds to restore music programs in public schools. Since inception, we have donated over $58 million worth of new musical instruments and technology to over 2,159 schools in 276 school districts around the country– impacting the lives of countless students. STC builds an education to employment pathway that closes the opportunity and skills gap.

SMAPA is a nonprofit 501 c(3) arts education organization whose mission is to provide inclusive, comprehensive developmental training in dance and related theater arts to students at all stages of life.

United Parks As One is a citywide alliance of neighborhood-based park, playground, and garden advocates dedicated to creating, maintaining, and activating open spaces for the benefit of Newark residents and communities. The vision of United Parks As One is empowered and sustainable park, playground, and garden communities that offer safe spaces for artistic expression, economic advancement, educational programs, environmental appreciation and stewardship, healthy living, and spiritual renewal for all age groups.
