Sophia Domeville is a Newark born Haitian American Artist, Art Educator and Art Advocate. A studio arts graduate of The College of New Rochelle, Sophia Domeville is a Haitian American Abstract Expressionist whose usage of expressive colors, textures and collage creates a Universal Language through Abstract Art. Her work can best be described as, “Bold, explosive, and deeply emotional.” Ms. Domeville’s passion of giving back to the community granted her an opportunity to become a Community School Director for the 2016-17 school year, at Louise A. Spencer in Newark implementing an art and mentorship program, managing their academic support, and ELT programming. Ms. Domeville has a rich history of program creation and implementation as well as artistic success in the fields of painting, mentorship and art education. Her work can be viewed simultaneously at LaCaye Restaurant in Brooklyn and City Without Walls where she is also resident artist at Gallery Afferro in downtown Newark, NJ.

What makes KidsCorp unique and necessary: Kids Corporation’s mission is to improve the lives of Newark children through cost effective programs and services that bolster academic skills, promote healthy development and stimulate a love of learning.
Each year our after-school, summer and school-day enrichment programs and human services benefit more than 4,000 low-income children ages 4 through 12 and support the education services at over 60 Partner Program schools, community and faith-based organizations city-wide.
